Continuing Legal Education

The WCLA was approved as an accredited CLE provider on July 1, 2007. Throughout the year, the WCLA will present a program of free monthly MCLE one-hour events on hot topics in workers’ compensation presented by outstanding practitioners from both sides of the bar. All are welcome to attend in person meetings, and WCLA members and IWCC personnel and staff will receive approved MCLE credit.

Beginning March 25, 2020, CLE credit will be available for certain CLE course materials posted on the WCLA Learning Management System (login required). WCLA members will be notified by email with details of what is available for credit and the dates credit will be offered for each program.

Live programs will be held in the JRTC Assembly Hall which is the auditorium on the Concourse (basement) level of the James R. Thompson Center (State of Illinois Building) at 100 W. Randolph in Chicago. Live programs begin at 12:00 noon and end at 1:00 pm. All persons are welcome to attend. WCLA members and IWCC personnel and staff receive approved MCLE credit.

Webinars will be available live and on demand, check the WCLA Learning Management System for upcoming and on-demand webinars. 

How to register for WCLA CLE

  1. Hover over the CLE & Events tab. Select "CLE Event Schedule" in the drop-down list.
  2. This brings you to the new WCLA Learning Management System (LMS). Login here with your WCLA credentials.
  3. Hover over the menu boxes on the main WCLA Education page (Getting Started, On Demand Webinars, Live CLE, Brown Bag Lunch…)
  4. Select the type of course you wish to attend (upcoming, on demand or archived) from the pop-up box
  5. A list of events will display on a new page, select the event and click register.
  6. If you hover over the event and it displays “View” in a blue box, you are already registered for the event.
  7. After you click register, a new window will open showing that you are registered.

How to retrieve your CLE Certificate

  1. Login in with your WCLA login credentials on the WCLA LMS page.
  2. Click “My Dashboard” in the right rail menu
  3. Click on “Transcript/Achievements
  4. Find the course in the list and click on the “View/Print Certificate” link

On “My Dashboard” you may also track CLE earned from other sources:

  1. Click “Add Additional Credits/Experience
  2. In the pop-up window:
    1. Add the title,
    2. Date earned
    3. Check the box to include the credits on the download (recommended)
    4. Drop your file of your certificate earned
    5. Click the green update button
  3. Click “Download as PDF” to export a list of all credits earned
