TO PLEDGE THE NUMBER OF HOLIDAY WISHES THAT
YOU AND YOUR FIRM WISH TO FULFILL THIS YEAR!!!!!
(For each Letter to Santa that you pledge you will be provided a letter written by the specific child that you are sponsoring and it is requested that an appropriate gift closely matching the child’s wishes be purchased in the $30.00 range. The organization has also encouraged an optional $5.00 donation to the charity to defray the administration costs of the program. We hope to provide you with the letters before Thanksgiving and we will provide a drop off location for your purchased items in the loop or otherwise make arrangements for drop off.)

WHO IS THE CHARITY
Holidays are around the corner and it’s a great time to help a child in need. The Young Lawyers Section of the WCLA is working with Direct Effect Charities of Chicago, a 501c3 organization, to fulfill the wishes of disadvantaged children in Chicago schools that have a 95% poverty rate or higher.
HOW IT WORKS
Thousands of children in this program write letters to Santa asking for toys or items they need ranging from drawing books to a winter coat. These children are anywhere from 3-20 years in age and from Pre-K through vocational high schools. We will distribute letters children have written to Santa to those wishing to participate in the program by November 15, 2018. For those participating, we will inform you regarding the date by which you need to drop off the wrapped or unwrapped gift at a specified location in the loop. We’ll take care of the rest!
WHAT WE NEED RIGHT NOW
Your pledge or your firm’s pledge to answer a specific amount of Letters to Santa. We do need to provide Direct Effect Charities with the number of letters we plan to fulfill by 10/31/17, so please let us know if you can help with this effort as soon as possible.
